Glock 17 – the success story continues… The new Glock 17 Gen5 FR Coyote has now also been able to convince the French armed forces! There is hardly a better advertisement for a pistol! Since the beginning of 2020, the entire French armed forces have been equipped with the Glock G17 Gen5 FR as the new standard pistol. The pistols were subjected to rigorous testing during the tendering process by the French STAT (Section Technique de l’Armée de Terre), including a minimum life test of 26,350 rounds, to ensure that the pistols and holsters selected met the extremely high standard and high military requirements of the French armed forces. The robust full-size pistol also impressed with its perfect handling, outstanding precision and reliability as well as an unusual, appealing look. The contract over the next few years includes over 75,000 pistols, holsters, magazine pouches,, various types of ammunition and protective cases.

The Glock 17 Gen5 FR Coyote was originally developed for the military and is now also available in a civilian version on the market! This particular configuration is the first Gen5 model to feature a coyote-colored frame

The new frame design of the GLOCK 17 Gen5 removed the finger grooves for more versatility but still allows to easily customize its grip by using the different back straps. A flared mag-well and a cutout at the front of the frame give the user more speed during reloading when fractions of a second matter. A reversible enlarged magazine catch changeable at user level as well as the ambidextrous slide stop lever accommodate left and right-handed operators. The rifling and the crown of the barrel were slightly modified for increased precision. Includes three 17-round magazines.

The Glock 19X was born because of US Armed Forces Modular Handgun System. Glock was the only company to offer a single pistol for both required configurations. Other competitors in MHS program submitted the Full-size and Compact pistols. Since the MHS award went to SIG Sauer, Glock decided to ditch the external safety and offer their product to the commercial market. During the SHOT Show 2018 was shown, as a MHS offspring.
