Originally developed as a self-defense weapon, the Taurus 605 in cal. .357 Magnum sets standards in design, performance and reliability. It features a single/double action trigger, fixed sights and a transfer bar for added security. This safety device is regularly found in revolvers with a firing pin integrated in the frame. Put simply, the hammer cannot reach the firing pin unless the transfer bar is “pushed together” to transfer the hammer’s impact to the firing pin. The transfer bar only slides between the hammer and the firing pin when the trigger is fully pulled.
